Zach Koch (b.1985) is an oil painter and digital artist originally from rural Illinois and studied at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (BFA Drawing, 2010) and Indiana University Bloomington (MFA Painting, 2014). In addition to his study in academia, he also apprenticed with Norwegian painter, Odd Nerdrum, at his ateliers located in France and Norway (2012).
Zach currently lives and works in Starkville, MS as a full-time instructor at Mississippi State University teaching drawing, painting, design, and digital imagery. He is also an active member of the art community and shows his artwork regionally, nationally, & internationally. Zach's current research and body of work explores appropriation in a digital age, where disparate visuals create unique narratives in the form of traditional painting, drawing, and digital animation.
